Cookie Policy
1. What Cookies and Browser Storage Are
Cookies are small files stored by your browser. Browser storage, such as localStorage and sessionStorage, stores values in your browser so the platform can remember session, display, or preference information.
2. Essential Cookies
newday_session: an essential secure session cookie used to keep you signed in and protect private pages.newday_csrf: an essential readable security-token cookie used for CSRF-token compatibility as NEWDAY's cookie-authentication model evolves.
Essential cookies are required for service and security and cannot be disabled through NEWDAY settings without affecting functionality.
3. Essential Browser Storage
NEWDAY currently uses browser storage for legacy auth/session compatibility values, account display and access-status values, theme preference, temporary signup or reset state, local dashboard notes, and expired-session notices.
4. Analytics
NEWDAY offers three choices: Essential Only, Product Analytics, or Analytics with Product Session Replay. Product Analytics and Session Replay are optional, and you may accept analytics while rejecting replay. Optional PostHog activity is restricted to the approved https://newdayapp.net and https://www.newdayapp.net Production origins. When Product Session Replay is separately accepted, eligible product-page sessions may be recorded using privacy masking for usability improvement and troubleshooting on /dashboard, /spy, and /indicator-lab. Landing, authentication, legal, billing, profile-form, query-string, hash, and other pages are excluded. Greetings, account details, dashboard notes, profile areas, inputs, Simulator positions and profit/loss values, and Indicator Lab configuration and results are masked or blocked. Console logs, canvas content, network timing, headers, request or response bodies, camera, microphone, audio, and clipboard contents are not intentionally recorded. Autocapture and other automatic analytics collection remain disabled. Session recordings may be retained for up to 30 days.
5. Stripe and Third Parties
Stripe may set its own cookies or browser storage on hosted Checkout or Billing Portal pages. Google Fonts and CDN resources may receive technical request information such as IP address, browser details, and request metadata when your browser loads those resources.
6. Choices
The consent banner offers Accept All, Essential Only, and Manage Choices. Cookie Settings lets you keep Product Analytics enabled while Session Replay remains disabled. Rejecting optional tracking does not disable essential login, security, checkout, or platform functionality. You may also use browser controls to block or delete cookies and storage, but doing so may affect essential functionality.
7. Withdrawing or Changing Consent
You can reopen Cookie Settings to change Product Analytics and Product Session Replay separately. Essential Only stops optional analytics and replay and uses the secure PostHog opt-out, reset, and PostHog-specific cleanup flow. Turning off replay while keeping analytics enabled stops replay without disabling the approved product events. These choices do not remove authentication, security, Stripe, or unrelated application cookies and storage. Browser controls remain available for managing cookies and storage, although blocking essential storage may affect platform functionality.
8. Policy Changes
We may update this Cookie Policy by posting a revised version with updated effective and last-updated dates.
